I listen, I hear and I sit with you
I trained as a postgraduate teacher and educator before developing extensive experience as a senior mental-health professional and CBT therapist. These different parts of my career have taught me how people learn, how distress affects everyday life and how the right relationship can help someone find the courage to change.
I am deeply passionate about helping people thrive — not only as individuals, but within families, teams, workplaces and communities. I keep the person and their goals at the centre of the work. I do not reduce you to a diagnosis, a difficult period or what has happened to you. I want to understand what matters to you, what you have survived, what may be keeping you stuck, and what you want your life to become.
My approach is warm, compassionate, collaborative and practical. I listen. I hear you. I sit with you without judgement. In that moment, only your experience matters. Together, we develop a shared understanding of what you are facing and use evidence-based CBT to help you move towards the life, relationships and sense of self you want to build.
I believe empowerment does not mean pretending that pain is easy. It means helping you understand your patterns, recognise your strengths and practise new ways of responding until change becomes possible. You will not be rushed, spoken over or treated as a collection of symptoms. We will work at a purposeful pace while keeping your safety, dignity and goals at the heart of therapy.
